You can use the installation CD to boot your computer in a virus-free environment in case of emergency when you cannot start it in the normal way. To do this, your computer must be configured to boot from the CD-ROM. Follow these instructions:
Boot the computer with the installation CD in the CD-ROM drive.
Select the language. Click Enter to continue.
A welcome screen appears. Press C to continue or A (Advanced) if the hard disk has more than one partition and you want to specify the partition to scan. After selecting the partition to scan, press C to continue.
The scan will automatically start after a few seconds.
When the scan finishes, information about the files scanned, viruses detected, etc. is displayed.
Press T to finish. Open the CD-ROM tray and take out the disk. The computer will automatically restart and start up from the hard disk as usual.
Notes:
If your computer is not configured to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive, go to your computer's BIOS and configure the start routine you want.
Scans will always be run with the most recent malware signature file available, either on the computer or the disks.
